Bitcoin Cash faces a new hard fork on November 15
- Bitcoin Cash will most likely experience a new hard fork on 1November 5, which will bring BCH owners a parachute drop.
- At the moment, the camp around Roger Ver and BCHN seems to have a small majority of the community, where Bitcoin ABC neck I will be branched off.
Over the past few weeks, a disagreement within Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has written it Via Twitter, Bitcoin ABC chief developer Amaury Sechet (@deadalnix) will hard fork Bitcoin Cash on November 15, 2020.
However, that 's not the whole truth. As in the past, there is a dispute within the Bitcoin Cash community as to who the blockchain can claim the “Bitcoin Cash” brand and the ticker symbol “BCH ” after a fork. Of course, the Bitcoin ABC development team around Amaury Sechet will not give in without a fight. Sechet commented on Ver's tweet on Twitter only as follows:
What is behind the resumption of warre hard fork in the Bitcoin Cash community?
The alleged cause for the renewed Bitcoin Cash community split is a Bitcoin Cash update proposal announced about a month ago for November 15th. Among other changes, Sechet and its development operations team will introduce a new "Coinbase rule", which foresees that 8% of the BCH mined will be redirected to Bitcoin ABC to fund the development of the protocol. According to Sechet, the funding should help provide new development capabilities to allow Bitcoin Cash to compete with Bitcoin and Ethereum .
However, the camp around Bitcoin Cash's most famous evangelist, Roger Ver (founder of Bitcoin.com), and the Bitcoin Cash Node (BCHN) client implementation is against the implementation of the new 'Coinbase rule'. As Ver wrote, diverting part of the Bitcoin Cash block reward to pay a single team ofdevelopment is " is a Soviet style central planner's dream come true “.
At first glance, it doesn't seem clear how the recent hard fork war is going to end. As data from Coin.Dance shows, around 42% of nodes use Bitcoin's client ABC, 45% use the Bitcoin client in Unlimited and only 10% use the BCHN client.

Ho Regardless, for now, the Worm camp still seems to have the majority of the community behind it, so the developers behind the Bitcoin Unlimited implementation have spoken out against the new Coinbase rule. actually joining Roger Ver's camp, it would lead to a slim 55% majority rejecting the November upgrade and thus retaining the Bitcoin Cash brand.
Additionally, in recent days, some groups of Bitcoin Cash Miners, such as Binance, Huobi, BTC.Top, Hashpipe, P2Pool, F2Pool, Easy2Mine, and Bitcoin.com reported “powered by BCHN” in the Coinbase block settings. Despite this, it remains to be seen how the hard fork turns out. There are 75 days to go. Ironically, November 15 could be the same day that Bitcoin SV hard forked two years ago.
